Is Pahibalo free?
Yes. Alerts for households are free and will stay free.
Is Pahibalo run by a utility?
No. Pahibalo is an independent service and is not affiliated with VECO, MECO, MCWD, the Cebeco cooperatives or any other utility. Always check your utility's official advisory for final details.
How will I get the alerts?
As notifications on your phone or computer. You turn them on from the Pahibalo website, with no app store and no account. On iPhone and iPad, notifications work after you add Pahibalo to your Home Screen.
When will I be alerted?
The day before a scheduled interruption (from 5:00 PM), again on the morning itself (from 5:30 AM), and whenever the utility changes or cancels it.
Which areas do you cover?
We are starting with the areas served by Visayan Electric (VECO) and adding the other Cebu utilities, for both power and water, one by one. See the Utilities we cover page for the current list.
Can I follow more than one barangay?
Yes. You can choose up to 10 barangays, for example where you live, where you work and where your family lives.
Can the alerts be harder to miss?
Yes. Turn on Hard-to-miss alerts and each alert stays on screen with a large banner and a long vibration, and repeats every 10 minutes, up to 3 times, until you tap Got it. There are no repeats between 9 PM and 5:30 AM, and your phone's silent mode still applies.
Do you cover unscheduled brownouts?
Pahibalo alerts you to interruptions that a utility announces. Sudden outages from faults, accidents or weather are not announced in advance, so we cannot alert you before them. For those, contact your utility directly.
What information do you keep?
Only what is needed to send alerts: your browser's notification address and the barangays you choose. No name, email or phone number. Turning alerts off deletes them. See the Privacy Policy for details.
My utility is not covered yet. What can I do?
Email support@pahibalo.com and tell us which utility serves your barangay. It helps us decide what to add next.
Free alerts for your barangay. Brownout alerts are live for Visayan Electric (VECO) areas, with more Cebu utilities on the way. No account, no app store.
