1. Choose your barangays
Search for your barangay and add up to 10, such as where you live, work or have family. Then pick what you want to hear about: brownouts, water interruptions, or both.
2. Turn on notifications
Alerts arrive as notifications on your phone or computer, straight from the Pahibalo website. There is no app store and no account to create. On iPhone and iPad, add Pahibalo to your Home Screen first, then turn on alerts from there.
3. Get three alerts for every interruption
- The day before, from 5:00 PM, so you can charge devices and store water.
- On the morning itself, from 5:30 AM, as a final reminder.
- An update if the utility moves or cancels the interruption, sent only to people who already got an alert.
Each alert says which barangays are affected, when, and why, and links to the utility's official advisory.
Want alerts you cannot miss?
Turn on Hard-to-miss alerts and each alert stays on screen with a large banner and a long vibration. It repeats every 10 minutes, up to 3 times, until you tap Got it. There are no repeats between 9 PM and 5:30 AM, and your phone's silent mode still applies.
Where the information comes from
Pahibalo reads the scheduled interruption notices that Cebu's utilities publish. Each one is checked by a person before any alert goes out, and when a utility edits or cancels a notice we send an update. See Utilities we cover for each source.
